Wahou ! Pouvions-nous nous douter de cette participation massive et cet engouement à notre projet ? Un mois pour récolter 1200€ sur le site http://fr.ulule.com/mock/ et nous en sortons avec 2030€ soit 169 % du projet ! Une quarantaine de personnes ont répondu à l'appel et ont souscrit à notre futur premier album qui est en cours d'enregistrement. Certains ont même souhaité donner plus : 75, 200, 400 et même 500€ ! J'en reste encore bouche bée et les mots m'en tombent :)
Quand on commence ce genre de projet, on ne sait jamais si on va être suivi, d'autant plus que lorsqu'il y a de l'argent en jeu, c'est toujours délicat (et ne parlons pas de la crise financière, du chômage, de la baisse du niveau de vie, de la chute des ventes du disque, et j'en passe...). Alors on tâtonne, on se dit "bon on va pas demander trop, sinon on ne les aura jamais...". C'est ce qu'on a fait. On n'a pas été trop gourmands. On s'est d'abord dit qu'on allait miser sur le financement de l'enregistrement et du mixage dans un premier temps, et qu'on verrait plus tard pour le pressage et la communication. Sauf qu'on ne s'attendait pas à un si fort taux de participation ! De fait, tout l'argent supplémentaire récolté va servir à la suite de notre projet. C'est absolument merveilleux et très très encourageant pour nous : nous sommes soutenus à fond par les internautes et cela fait chaud au cœur.

Grâce à vous, notre premier album va sortir du pressage et nous pourrons enfin l'avoir entre nos mains. Un bébé né d'un long travail qui a duré presque trois ans. Si nous avions dû financer nous-mêmes l'album entièrement, nous n'aurions jamais été sûrs de sa réussite. Actuellement nous comptons donc environ 80 préventes (dont les 40 premiers souscripteurs qui ont permis le financement de la location du studio pendant 3 jours). Et ce n'est que le début ! Wow! Could we expect such a massive and passionate participation? Only a month to gather 1200€ through http://fr.ulule.com/mock/ and the result is astounding with 2030€, or 169% of our initial target! About forty people answered the call and subscribed to our first album to be (still recording). Some of you even went the extra mile and gave more than the suggested amount: 75, 200, 400 and even 500€! I’m still humbled by the generous gesture J
When you start this kind of project
you never know if you’re gonna get the expected support. This is all the more
true as there’s money involved (not to mention the current crisis, unemployment
rates, the cost of life going up, disc sales going down and so on…). And so you
take baby steps around the matter, thinking that you shouldn’t ask for too much
or you’ll never get it. We targeted the recording and mixing budget firstly and
would improvise for the communication and the pressing. So even if we didn’t
expect to receive such a generous participation, all the “over the top” money
will be used to push our project even further.
This is absolutely fantastic and
very encouraging for us : you’re behind us, supporting us and this is
heartwarming.

Thanks to you, our first album will
soon be out and we’ll get it within our hands. We nursed that baby for almost
three whole years and if we had to finance it ourselves entirely, it may well
have never seen the light of day. As of today we have 80 pre-orders (40 first
of which have covered the studio fee for 3 days). And this is only the
beginning! With the coming concerts you’ll be able to order your own copy if
you haven’t already or you can just drop an e-mail to mock.songs@gmail.com
to be mailed detailed order instructions.
That said, we’ll try to recover from
the initial shock (good one) of your overwhelming participation and rapidly
prepare all of your counterparts goodies. You still have to leave a foot on the
ground to continue to have your head in the clouds ^^
